Old ROck House

“Nice little place to stay in Hico”

"We spent a night in the Old Rock House and enjoyed being there. Leda was warm in taking our reservation and having the house ready for us. We felt right at home. We chose to take the king bed and what a wise choice it was. We both had a great night's sleep. The bed was so comfortable. If you like being in old rock houses filled with lovely antiques and a very comfortable bed, this is the place for you to stay. It is also relaxing to simply sit on the front porch in the large rockers and just relax."

“It captured my heart”

"This is the kind of place that you want to keep coming back to again and again. It's a restored old west house that makes you feel like your back in the late 1800's. (It's actually from 1870's!) It's an original hewn out of rock house on wooded 6 acres, nestled minutes from town. The roomy house has one to three bedrooms avail for rent, two full bathrooms, open kitchen and living room, and two separate entry rooms. It's decorated perfectly for the time period and so comfortable, (like your visiting Grandma back in time! ) Yet the house has all the modern amenities you'll need. It was such a peaceful place.
Hico is a small old west town along with little similar charming historical towns within 30 min of here to enjoy each, its unique "best sights" and restaurants. We visited Hico's Eis House for excellent sandwiches and ice cream, wine and cheese next door at its drink house. We, in our 24 hour stay in Hico also visited the Red Caboose winery in Meridian, the excellent historic Riverhouse Restaurant in Glen Rose and the renown Rough Creek Lodge for the Worlds Best Chef! All within 30 min of here."

"The decor is amazing and truly makes you step back in time . . ."

" . . . After a full day of shopping Hico, driving to the nearby towns and shopping in Dublin and Stephenville and visiting the vineyard in Bluffdale, it was so nice to come back to our "home" and just rock in the chairs on the porch and enjoy the peaceful outdoor surroundings. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and the beds comfy. The clawfoot bathtub reminded me of my grandma's. A lovely place to stay." -Bed and Breakfast.com

"This beautiful old rockhouse was a tribute to real Texas personality."

". . . We enjoyed rocking and swinging among the old oaks outside as well as enjoying the western comfort inside" -Bed and Breakfast.com

"This is a great house. It's a quaint place, yet with lots of space, comfortable beds, and lovely grounds. Would be great for a family vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

“Great Place to Relax!”

The Old Rock House Bed & Breakfast in Hicois such a charming little place! The decorating is incredible and the original rock walls and wood floors take you right back to the days it was built in the 1800's.... except with the most comfortable beds, a hot shower, and a coffee pot. The house was all ours and we loved that the Hico town square was right around the corner for some shopping and dinner. Using the breakfast voucher at the Koffee Kup was easy and so convenient -- and delicious!! It was such a great weekend to just kick back and enjoy the country. We will most definitely be coming back! - Trip Advisor

“Wonderful time! We've already booked our next trip.”

We stayed at this precious house with a few of our friends just to get away for the weekend and relax. The accommodations couldn't have been any nicer! I loved the fact that we had the house to ourselves, with plenty of space to spread out. In the morning we'd get our coffee, sit on the front porch, and enjoy the country atmosphere. We shopped in Hico, where the streets were decorated for Christmas. It was magical. We were given a voucher for breakfast at "The Coffee Cup" restaurant which was good old southern cooking. The weekend went way too fast, but we will be back again. I highly recommend the Old Rock House.
